The ship departed from the Canary Islands en route to Bathurst (now called Banjul), capital of The Gambia. Summer sailed replaced the winter sails and a salt water shower was set up. Finally, the night before landfall, Trygve Johansen dazzled all of us by balancing on top of the main mast.
