After sailing on the Statsraad Lehmkuhl I went on to the MS Sea Venture out of New York. New York to Bermuda for about a year or so then got the draft card from A1 had to go in, so I went in to the Army and served.
From there I went in to the construction field as a roofer for some years. Then jumped in to the Labors Union 596 LIUNA. Did a lot of different jobs. I found that I loved it was scaffolding doing set up and take downs. Did jobs at West Point under the eyes of the Secret Service, CIA and FBI for President Bush Senior’s last speech. Also Federal Prisons, Sikorsky, Black Hawk plant, power plants and a few nuclear plants.
After 20 years I came back to work in western Massachusetts in the new Holyoke police station, Smith College and other jobs.
I have been married to my lovely wife, Maria, for over 40 years and have three adult children, Jacob, Timothy and my beautiful and smart girl Michelle, all with children.
I became disabled in 2002 and after 18 surgeries and a total hip replacement, I’m still here.
